Hi Ivan, Truelight

If I am wrong I really want to know why I am wrong. I need your help to understand why my understanding is wrong:

Ivan wrote “It is very clearly established in Rom that we are justified (pronounced righteous) by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law.” Faith here refers to “faith in his blood” Rom 3:25 – simply believing that Christ died for you on the cross. I have “faith in his blood”, I believe Christ died for me on the cross, then Ivan, according to what you wrote, you would say that I am justified.

Now, Rom 9: 30 says…”whom he justified, them he also glorified”…That is, everyone that is justified by faith will be glorified by God.

Rom 11:6 … if it be of works, then is it no more grace: Salvation is by grace, works has no part to play in it; Rom 11:6 says once you bring in works, then it is no longer by grace.

Seriously
LBS

P/S:: I know what you believe is based very much on verses like Mtt 24:13, Jas 2:20-24, Jn 15:2,8, etc etc. But your reference to these verses doesn’t help resolve the “dilemma” I have with the verses in Romans above.

Rom 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Faith is based on hearing what God tells you – if God says XXX to you and you believe XXX, then that is faith. It is critical to determine from Scriptures what it is that God wants you to believe.
