Hi LBS,
We agree that it is not by works or deeds of the Law that one can be saved . All this can be summed up with one word : SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS. Man's righteousness through works or deeds of the Law cannot save us. It is through faith in the blood of Jesus and receiving Him into our hearts to conceive the spiritual birth by the Holy Spirit. I think what you are concern is whether a believer can lose his salvation. The passage in Heb 10:26-29 explains how one can lose his salvation which is unthinkable - a willful forsaking of Christ and treating the Son of God with scorn, regarding his blood as common and unclean and insulted the Holy Spirit. I would like to think that you will not willfully sin against Him and will remain steadfast till the end. So in your case it is once saved, continue to abide in Him and will be saved. If you belong to Christ, you will bear fruit(Christlikeness) to holiness and the end everlasting life. If you are having a living faith, you will live a life of faith and obedience in Christ. What we are trying to say is that living a life of obedience in Christ is showing the fruits that befit repentance. As Rick Joyner rightly points out, "True Christianity has always been an affront and a threat to those who live by the pattern of this present evil world and those professing Christians who have compromised with the world." I am concerned that if we preach "once saved, always saved" we may breed such professing Christians who may bring shame to the name of Christ. Do you agree? Let Christ be formed in us,
