Hence, to not bear fruit does not equate to not being in Christ. Hence, Jn 15:6, is for those who do not want to first: abide in Christ. That is why the use of "if ANYONE who does not abide in me" This is the choice of the unbelievers, that they have to choose to abide in Christ. And upon choosing to abide in Christ, it does not mean they will bear fruit immediately. They need to surrender themselves to the authority of Christ, hence Christ in them (or us)...then will we bear much fruit. God be with you, royston |
