Hi Truelight, It is absolutely important that I make it clear that I still believe that salvation is by faith in Christ's blood and "once saved, always saved". But you asked me how I would understand the verses in Jn, Matt, James, so I was just answering to your query. LBS: Are you serious when you said the above, that Romans is talking about a certain group of people that are destined to be saved, which means does not apply to people like you or me? Truelight: You have misread me also. I said "the scriptures you quoted in Roman" and not "the whole book of Roman". What I am saying is that Paul is speaking to the saints in Roman, and in Roman 11:5, he is telling the saints that there will be a a remnant of Jews that are predestined to be saved. You would like to read Rom 11:1-7 again especially verse 1. LBS: Didn't misread you. Want to stress to you that the gospel of salvation that Paul presented in Rom 3:25,28 is meant for obedience of every one in Rome who would believe, in fact, for all men because "all have sinned", see Rom 3:23 |
