<<<No eternal security, your good works count towards your salvation. Gospel message? Believe Christ died for your sins, you believe that, good, you are saved, but remember to bear fruits/do good works or else you will not be saved.>>>

I think we are beginning to close the gap in our understanding re the relationship between salvation and works of obedience (fruit). We have established our agreement that salvation is through the cross of our Lord Jesus and not of Law or human effort (self-righteousness). The resulting works of obedience is a demonstration of the reality of our righteousness in Christ. Maybe you have miscontrued what I said about bearing fruit and losing of one's salvation based on Jn 15:1-8. What I am saying is that if anyone claim or profess to be a Christian, his fruit-bearing will have a bearing on his claim that he is a Christian (born-again). Because Jn 15:2 says, if anyone is not part of Christ, he does not bear fruit. So, his salvation is in question because he is not truly born-again. Here again, I must say that only God knows. Can we agree?

In v 6, it says that if anyone(Christian?) does not abide in Christ(extract himself from Christ), he will lose his salvation. If v 6 is talking about Christian losing his salvation, then "once saved, always saved" theology cannot stand. If it is referring to non-Christian then it does not pose any problem re losing one's salvation. I think someone says that v 6 is referring to Christian. Do you agree that v 6 is referring to Christian? Anyway, whatever the case, do you believe that a Christian can lose his salvation? I think TL also asks this question previously.

You may like to read my posting on "Fully persuaded" to be fully assured of one's salvation. The Bible exhorts us in 2 Pet 1:10 "to be even more diligent to make your call and election sure."

Let's anchor on Jesus,
