Hi Royston, I don't know if you know this or not but there is a major difference between Arminians and Calvinists cocerning faith and repentance. Arminians believe that faith and repentance are the products of the human will, ( a decision making process), but Calvinists believe that both, real saving faith and repentance are gifts of God to the elect. In fact repentance follows faith rather than the other way round - another major difference with the Arminians. That is why a Calvinist can fully rest in the finished work of Christ with true joy, while an Arminian has to depend on how well he has obeyed God's will to find rest in Christ. Whatever it is, concerning our works, we are told to count ourselves as unprofitable servants and are only doing our duty. Paul counted all his credentials as dung. God Bless. |
