Re: Question how to serve in a church where your leaders don't trust and support you? (Keith)

hi interested,

thanks for your feedback.

i have no wish to cause division in the church. that's why i'm willing to go with the leaders' suggestions even though i do not agree with them.

i just don't understand why people can't be more gracious and open-minded. i agree that not all charismatic teachings and practices are in line with the Bible, and i'm strongly against certain of them, but i don't see why we should treat our fellow brothers and sisters as if they are not part of God's family or regard them as being shallow and deceived.

i have friends from the charismatic churches, and i find them to be very good christians. i may not agree totally with their doctrine, but i don't see why i can't accept them and learn from them.

but from what you shared, i think i will probably not fit into an AoG church :)

anyway, i have been thinking of changing to another church for quite some time. in fact, i've identified a few churches which i believe teach a good balance between the traditional envangelical stand and the pentecostal/charismatic stand.

i only stayed on with my current church because i wanted to help my brothers and sisters grow and mature in Christ. but i'm finding it increasing difficult for me to serve under leaders who are quick to condemn and put down any ideas that differ from their own.

perhaps for the good of the church and for myself, i should really pray about leaving and moving on to another church.

thanks for your advice.

in His Grace, keith
