From what you have described earlier, where you might be looking for, is actually a church which opens its doors to both Charismatic as well Evangelical viewpoints and will not take sides in either.

Coming from a Methodist setting, it has its ups and downs as well. As you can see, within Methodist circle, some people would think that putting up the "God speaks" banner in front of churches should not be done, while others feel others. However, I am glad that amongst the pastors, the jurisdicting body is rather open-minded about all things.

What we are dealing here, is actually the perception of man and what he can stomach as truths. This has nothing to do with God's truths. As you have rightly pointed out on a specific youth in your youth group, where it is not his faith that has been shaken, but his concept of only one teaching/preaching technique that confuses him.

Honestly, wherever we go, we will have problems. Wisest thing to do, is seek God for direction and approval, as there will be many men who will have axes to grind with us, but as time goes by, your heart and zeal for God will tell them whether or not your actions have been right before God, for God will reveal to them in due time. (Gal 1:10)

I too suffer at times with issues with parents, because of my charges but my Senior pastor sees not what others says, instead sees the heart of the servant, whether it be coming from a heart that truly wishes to honour God in every undertaking.

Lastly, in my opinion, though I can understand your grievances and do feel in your pain, however, I would not think it be wise to openly talk about this matter regarding your issue with your church leaders in here. Such things should instead, be done between you and your leaders, and it should be a sit-down session, where much prayer and conferencing should be carried out, and to hear from God what should be done about such situations and decide collectively what should be the remedy for such situations. After all, leaders are placed over us for a purpose, and that is to act as spiritual authority over us, and we should act wisely and even stay under the covering of our Pastors and spiritual leaders, for Christ has given them authority over us. Only then will the church grow in unity. Acts 2:42 to Acts 6:7 where the church grew in numbers, until an issue was raised by Hellenistic Jews over widows being overlooked in their daily serving of food, and once remedied, the church again grew in numbers. Why we may ask? The answer is simple. They stayed under the teaching and guidance of the Apostles.

I hope I have not been nosey, but I speak from my heart, as I do emphathise with you and share your concerns, but I am reminded by God not to act against the desires of my pastor and lay leaders, so likewise yourself.

Not just that, to say to have you removed from cell leading, for it is about time for 'sabbath'. I have a question to pose to you and require your honesty, was it said in annoyance or was it said because you truly need a break? If it be because you are annoyed with what is happening currently, then my dear brother, you might just be stepping out of God's will, as did Jonah, by choosing to run away from your calling, which evidently is your gift in teaching.

God's joy continue to strengthen you.
