... and it is a "counterfeit religion". One that is having a form of godliness and nothing else sadly. We are all entitled to our own opinions, of course. Consequently, we are all encouraged to form our own opinions based on our own search for the truth. At this point it is significant to note that the Bible says "... my people perish from a lack of knowledge." I'm merely stating my own position, and putting forward a biblical standard of measurement. I think the Bible is a reasonable standard of measure in our search for truth... don't you think? I, for one, will not dismiss the casual use (or misuse) of the Lord's name. It is after all the 2nd commandment. You shall not use the Lord's name in vain. Now if these "prophets" have indeed used the Lord's name in vain, then I think it is something that ALL of us Christians should take a serious view of. Your laissez-faire view of the movement is questionable... but ofcourse you are clearly entitled to hold that view. Let nobody take that away... that is if you do not wish to let it be taken away. You, obviously, have chosen to gloss over the serious scriptural violations in favour of the "feel-good" scenario created by the movement. Many seem to be swayed by what's seen on the surface. And from your post, it would appear that you think likewise. Numbers seem to be important to you doesn't it? Numbers, events, denominations and churches working together at such events etc. It is after all a mere illusion... and nothing else. Not unlike our recent Magic Show. An illusion that projects a form of godliness for the purpose of a lucrative financial gain to all who run it. Their motives are questionable. I challenge any argument that states that the churches are actually working together. A more accurate statement would be that the members in these churches are playing musical chairs, moving from one church to another... all searching for a higher high. How sad. I think that God is interested in much more than numbers.... but hey that's only my opinion. |
