I feel uncomfortable with the word inferior as I tend to associate it with something being of inferior quality. However Bill has shown us another meaning to it. It was at first sight that the word does not appeal to me.
Yes, there is a line of authority that is clearly seen in God's cabinet or government. We can see it in God's plan of Redemption. Father God designs the plan, the Son executes the plan, and the Holy Spirit points men to Jesus for salvation. There is also unity in the Holy Trinity. It is unity in diversity and not in conformity as shown in Gal 3:28 which speaks of our oneness in Christ. I now see unity as wholeness or completeness. In complementarity of giftings and function, we complete one another in Christ. All members of the Body of Christ are important no matter how insignificant (like the analogy of the human body) to contribute to the unity of the Body of Christ. As we are dealing with authority, you know the Bible says that those in authority must come under authority except God the Father (1 Cor 15:27,28), can I know your views re those senior pastors of independent churches who do not come under authority unless there is a Church Board which is in place to provide that authority for the senior pastors. Care to comment? In His steps,
