Ivan,
this is indeed a perilious times that we live in. You can see the antichrists in the churches turning them from the Truth even as we discuss and it will get worse.
First of all, I believe the antichrists that John referred to is the same as any spirit which is against God , who does not declare that God came in the flesh. These spirits are seducing spirits who will always attempt to turn us from the Truth of God, in or out of the church cover. I find what Rick Joyner has written is in NO defence of the Truth when he compromises with the RCC viz
'Some of you may have already recoiled at the sight of this huge mine. Am I calling the Roman Catholic Church during this time the antichrist? No, though that was the position of the Reformers. However, as we study this period we must conclude that just as Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, the antichrist spirit did for a time take its seat in the "temple of God," the church, but it was not the church itself.
The antichrist spirit has seldom come in blatant opposition to Christ but rather as a substitute for Him. This happened at times in the Roman Catholic Church during the Middle Ages and it has happened, to some degree, in almost every church movement since. That is why we must understand it. Not to point a finger at the Roman Church, but to identify the spirit that still seeks entry into our churches today.' What is he trying to say here? Is the antichrist spirit(acs) in the RCC or not? I believe that the RCC has NOT changed any of their doctrines since the Reformation. Has the acs gone then ? But the doctrines remain? Unfortunately, prsently one of the damage being caused by these acs is in the churches today. It comes under different labels namely Latter Rain, 3rd Wave,Dominion Theology, Replacement theology Manifest sons, Joels Army, and the like. This basically is the signs and wonders movement. This will become a biggie in that this movement will usher and welcome the Antichrist(Man of sin) Himself. Many a times the Lord has warned us about the signs and wonders which we naturally do seek for. Also, he has said in this last days, there WILL be these false prophets and christs appearing with signs and wondrs to deceive EVEN the elect. Themselves being decevied while deceiving others. The biggest signs and wonder proponent will be the AC himself when he seemingly rises from the dead. Although the idea of this conquering the nations for Christ is noble, nevertheless this is NOT Biblical. Many churches has taken in this theology and yes signs and wonders do manifest, but by whom, when it does not line up with God's Word. I must clarify that I do believe that God is still working with signs and wonders but this particular movement is not of His. Now back to the Man of sin...those who dwell in the pretrib rapture theology will be in danger of embracing this man as the return of Christ except it is the wrong one. Now most unfortunately Rick J is a major proponent of this movement. He is known as a prophet who thinks that Joels Army is God's army who will take over nations and govts for God. This will add and build to the one world govt soon to come. But I believe that there will be remnant of the true church who keeps His Word. Who doesnt compromise to these seducing spirits. These church will go thro persecution in the tribulation by the AC and those who follow him will find themslves standing on quicksand during the persecutions. These will be the great falling away of the believers. But those who keeps His Word will be founded in the Rock of Salvation unto even death physically. Are you ready? In Christ Jesus prophet
