You see..bro..if we can do anything about our situation..God wouldn't have to send Jesus..
The law and requirements in the bible is not for you to follow them but for you to realise how far you have fallen short..so that we can shout : " I really really need a saviour". Not just for salvation but for every area of our life. God did not want to give the 10 commandments. He knows that man can't keep them. Man ask for it ( read it, the jews asked for it) They boasted in their self effort (ex 24:3)..they say they can keep it, they murmured and complained (num 16, num17) and they died.. The funny thing is they murmured before (before EXodus 20) and God did not punished them and now after the 10 commandments and the law concerning the levitius priesthood was given, God punished them for every sin because they think they can keep the law and want God to bless and curse them based on the law ( their ability to keep it) How to relate to our situation now ? Just know that you can't keep yourselves pure holy and undefiled and always died to self...why, because we just can't. Unless the Lord build the house (us), we labour in vain.. Reconising this, we fall flat on the grace and mercy of God. We are grateful that he doesn't not dealt with us after our sin else none would be here sharing.. While we are still struggling with sin, he still blesses us..I know, I see his blessing all the time even when I missed it most blatantly.( Heresy? : Peter denied Jesus 3 times and He still gives him a boat sinking blessing when he appear..WHY? It is his goodness that causes you to change, not your discipline, or self effort) He bless us based on jesus' work. He heal us based on jesus' broken body.. etc. He prosper us based on Jesus' impoverished state on the cross .. He sees us Holy perfct , acceptable in Christ. Realising this unconditional acceptance changes your heart. It releases the power to change and overcome sin. It release the power to live holy and love.. Jesus said : the prostitues loves and gives much because she was forgivem much.. we are forgiven much too..but we just don't think that we are not as bad as the tax collector or prostitute..that's error.. Do I codoning sin ? Is God condoning sin..no. Jesus took my punishment for all the sins That I will ever commited in this life. He has forgiven me even before I confess them.. That's why they is no room for me to boost..I can't say I obey and I did it.. No, Jesus obeyed and He did it for me..That's why I am living in the blessing zone now..all the time..no more self effort to get his approval..Jesus' work is more than enough for me.. Now, after 20 years as a believer, I know why this gospel is called the good news..because God did not impute sin to you but blessing because He is Good.. That's why I am more excited about life now than when I first born again.. That's why God can use me..he sees me in Jesus That's why I can expect him to move anything and everytime This is Amazing Grace : Jesus !! That's why the words say: for from Him, and through HIm and To him are all things..to God be the glory forever amen..
