You asked me to go read Isa 1 & 2 and I did this morning. It just described the depravity of man in sinning and turning away from God to idolatory. But God is willing to forgive and cleanse them from their sins if they are willing to come back to Him and submit to His holy provision. The Lord has provided for mankind a Saviour as recorded in Isa 53.
With regards to prophet Isaiah, he did not rationalise but he called sin as God calls it "sin". I am sure he also examined himself in the word and he admitted before the Holy presence of God, "I am a man of unclean lips." And you know the Lord delivered him by applying a live coal on his unclean lips and make them clean. Subsequently, the call came from the Lord and he immediately obeyed the Lord and responded, "Here am I send me." The Lord is continually dealing with us in the areas of holiness, righteousness and godliness because He wants to present to Himself a church (bride) "without spot and wrinkle" before the return of the Lord to consummate the marriage of the Lamb. No rationalisation please. We do well to take heed of the words of encouragement in Heb 12:1,2 (NKJV)
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, LET US lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and LET US run with endurance the race that is set before us.
looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Who is to lay aside every weight and sin and who is to run the race with endurance? LET US. And we can do it with the cheering of the witnesses and looking unto Jesus all the way. What is the sin that so easily ensnares us? You have to examine yourself in the mirror of God's word as recorded in James 1:21-25 and ask God to save us from the ensnared sin. And we know God is able to do it to set you free. If your problem is with "unclean lips" like Isaiah, the Lord can set you free from evil speaking or false accusation in calling people "cocky and proud". You have to examine yourself in the mirror of God's word. So, the take home message is this: Examine Self (ES) to be set free from Ensnared Sin (ES).
