Hi all,
In the epistle of Galatians, Paul is very serious to protect the Galatian Christians against the Judaizers who preached another gospel which substitute the relevance of the cross to save mankind from sin and satan's captivity. In essence, they are "trampling the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace." Heb 10:29 Though we do not have such problem with the observance of the rituals of the Law here in Singapore (I stand corrected), we too must take heed of any form of doctrine or teaching which substitute the relevance of Jesus death at the cross for the salvation of mankind for eg self-righteousness of humanitarians, etc. This is the premise or basis(the finished work of Jesus at the cross) for the effective operating power of God's grace. So, those who opt for justification by the works of the Law (observance of the rituals of the Law as practised by the Judaizers, etc) have fallen from grace, because it is impossible to have it both ways. Can you see the words of Paul in addressing these Judaizers or perverts of the Gospel of salvation by "wishing that those who trouble you would even cut themselves off!" Gal 5:12. In v 4, it says "You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace." When you become estrange from Christ, it is love turns to hatred and you are turning away from Christ, you just have to wait for Christ to tell you, "I do not know you." Christ in us the hope of glory,
