I think we are talking about 2 different "time zone". You are talking about pre-salvation period when our self-effort or self-work counts for nothing with regards to being initiated in Christ as highlighted by John Doe. During the sanctification period, the "works of obedience" which will determine the degree of Christ-life in us, "kicks in" as highlighted by Apostle James. So, now our faith is activated with the "works of obedience".

What is there to boast about the miracles and signs and wonders if there is lawlessness or disobedience. What is there "to rejoice about the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

It is also not about how well one starts, but how well one finishes. So many have finished the race: Apostle Paul and the cloud of witnesses and Dr Rev Billy Graham, etc. I read that a few of his contemporaries who are also well known evangelists during Billy Graham's time have disappeared from the scene. Maybe like Demas who have left Paul having loved this present world (2 Tim 4:9).

Friend, we would like to know those whom you have influenced, will they still be around 5 or 10 years from now. So, please encourage your cell group members and other members of your church to finish well by encouraging them to do according to Heb 12:1,2 (including the message to lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us,.....).

Together, let's go for the finishing line to receive "the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing." 2 Tim 4:7,8

In His steps,
