Hi,
I want to emphatically say with you and all other believers in Christ that Jesus is flawless; He is the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star; He is the Rose of Sharon and He is altogether lovely and wonderful. But your statements tend to "push other believers down" by your "holy" thinking and teaching. You charged that the traditional teaching tantamounts to lies which you previously embraced. A good case study will be Paul's instruction to his spiritual son Timothy to "continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. ALL Scriptures is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Tim 3:14-17. Paul had just warned Timothy about the evil men and impostors who will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived before he issued the above instructions. We must be careful that we look at ALL Scriptures not just a selection of passages to suit one's theology. We (myself included) can then be spared the sorrow and heartache of being deceived or deceiving others. Maybe you should read 2 Tim 2 where Paul encouraged and challenged his spiritual son Timothy to "be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus". He challenged Tim to endure hardship as a good soldier; to compete as an athlete according to the rules; to be a hardworking farmer. In essence, what Paul is saying is that outside of Christ, it is hard to do all three. You can do them in the grace of Christ. Your message, unlike that of Paul and other writers of NT(they are very sound), tend to be misunderstood and misinterpreted and may create confusion. We should follow what Paul has taught Timothy and commit to other faithful believers who will be able to teach others also. Somewhere you said that "Be holy, for I am holy." And you said it is a state of being. I checked up the meaning of the word "Be" from the World Book Dictionary which gives the meaning to remain; continue; abide. And now what does 2 Cor 7:1 says? We are to perfect holiness in the fear of God. Does it then seem like holiness is a state of being - nothing else to be done to perfect holiness. Anyone care to share? There are so many issues concerning your teaching that can be addressed from all the Scriptures. It is safe to stick to all the Scriptures. I am for it. How about you? In His steps,
