Hi John:
I know what you are quoting ...I know where you are coming from. Paul must have shared the same thing as me or I shared the same thing as him :P... otherwise why would the people asked " do we continue to sin that grace might abound" You see John, holiness is Jesus.. When God see you, he sees you holy... when you see yourself already holy, you stop trying to be holy.. " be holy, as I am holy" - Be is not trying..it is a state of being... The more you try not to sin and to live holy, the more you will sin.. Why ? The law arouses the passion of the flesh. Like a man who walk past a gate with a hole evryday and not noticing it. Until the owner put a sign on top of the hole : "DO not peek". what happen, you want to peek..before that, you are not interested..now that the law arises, your sinful passion is aroused.. The key to live a holy life is to keep yourself in the goodness of God and sees yourself how God sees you... Practise the consciousness of his love for you everyday and you will find that the sins that you are struggling with just fall away like dried leaves without you doing anything.. try it ..don;t focus on not sinning but rather what God say about you..that you are holy, acceptable, well pleasing in his sight..fully worthy of his blessing..go read the Pauline epistles. ( I tell you the devils hate me for sharing this but who cares when he is so defeated) Most people sin when they feel unloved, dull and bored.. The grace of God don't deal with sin at the behaviour level..it goes to the root ..which is the law.. In Christ, the law does not apply to us anymore..by being in his love and walking in teh consciousness of his love, we fulfill the law unconsciously..that's the best way to live man...
