How sanctified is sanctified ? How "obedient to God" is obedience is considered good enough for God to move and bless? Nobody can answer that..as a result, nobody has faith that God will really move because at all time, believer are very conscious of their failings and disobedient.. am I right?

john666:

No you are not. Let me explain.

The obedience that I am talkina about has NO link to being blessed!!!! You ask if the obedience is considered good enough to move God to bless us, right ? Well the answer is the obedience I am talking about has NOTHING to do with God's blessings.... You see, God will bless us anyway, He has and will anyway...That is Grace. The obedience that comes after the realization of how good God is in giving us the Grace, only leads us to be followers because we want to be GREATFUL to Him !!! The obedience earns NOTHING to us in this life as blessing. We OBEY because we LOVE Him, not to get blessing or anything in return. God will give those REGARDLESS of our works.

THat is the wrong concept you have about MY understanding of Grace and Obedience......;)

Brother, u see..sanctification has got nothing to do with us as some would believe. I know the main line churches believe that somethings santification means no tv, no porno ( please I am not promoting), don't eat this, don't eat that, don't wear this, don't listen to these musics, no MTV, no gambling etc etc but this is not what God is saying...

----------------------

John666:

1 Thessalonians 4:3 - For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from unchastity;

how is sanctification linked to abstaining from unchastity ? think about it.

Hebrews 10:29 - How much worse punishment do you think will be deserved by the man who has spurned the Son of God, and profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and outraged the Spirit of grace?

You see, we can outrage the Spirit of Grace by profaning the blood of the covenant ......

How about being baptised and Holy communion? Jesus ASKED us to do it..... Do you even consider that to be a 'not needed'? If you say yes, then you are denying or taking His words lightly......

Matthew 7:26 - And every one who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house upon the sand;

Why do you think Jesus said these words? If we do not need to obey Him in anything at all ( ofcourse not for blessing purposes or getting anything in return ), I don't know if you really know what it means to be a Christian.....

You see, if we SEEK something in return for OUR obedience to Christ, we have already missed the point.........

Our Obedience to Christ in doing whatever the Spirit of God asks us to do, is PURELY out of gratitude and thanksgiving !!! For saving such a wretch like me !!!!

Am I clear ?

We cannot take His grace as a license to Sin. !!! I mean we should not. We surely CAN, in a potential sense, and Yes God WILL forgive ( infact He has ALREADY forgiven ), but we should not.

Look Here: Heb 10:23-27 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful; 24 and let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. 26 For if we sin deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a fearful prospect of judgment, and a fury of fire which will consume the adversaries.

See, the good works mentioned here are a RESULT. not a "LAW-WORK".... See also v26 carefully.
