I believe that there are too many blanket statemnets which are causing us to misunderstand.
Although God wishes to bless, we have to accept that sometimes He doesnt seem to not because HE knows what is best for us. Poverty CAN be good sometimes. Read my comments about the church in Smyna in Rev2 and Wealth CAN be BAD more often than NOT. Read about the church in Laodecia in Rev3 and lots of other warnings about mammon. Thats why I believe that when God gives you material wealth(make sure its from Him!) its for You are to use this for HIS purpose. I dont think He will give it to you to make you fall. Whats important is to understand God's love( as ES said) and sovergnity as well. He loves us and know whats best for us. Lets stop equating poverty and wealth to God. Thats Not Biblical.
