Do you know that there are Christians who after attended Theological college ended up critical of everything Christianity and some have denied Christ. What is the problem here? Is it too much head knowledge as your good friend Royston suggests. It is knowing Christ and not just knowing about Him through all the theological studies that should be the focus of one's learning. You seem to suggest that I am saying we can contribute to the finished work of Christ at the cross. NO! NO! NO! Jesus has completed His work at the cross. Salvation is based on Christ's work and not man's self-righteousness. I hope you know my stand and please remember this.
But God is not finished with me yet. The moment I resist His working, I am staying at base level. But if I accept His working in my life, I will move forward and upward for the goal He intends for me to attain. He wants me to be transformed and conformed to the image of His Son, Jesus. In keeping with God's word, I can contribute to the Kingdom of God by teaching the whole counsel of God's word (including those that we find it hard-hitting besides the grace messages) and impacting the world around us with our Christian conduct. I am also assured of my salvation knowing that He is faithful and He will never fail me nor forsake me and propel me to be drawn to Him everytime I fall. I can say with Apostle Paul that I can be knocked down but not knocked out because knowing that everytime when I return to Him, He is there to pick up the pieces and He is always ever ready to forgive and restore me when I repent. I am only concerned that any half-measure in teaching will not fully equip the saints for the race and ministry. You know what I mean by half-measure in teaching. You cannot assume that when you preach grace messages alone, the recipients are going to be OK provided you also warned and challenged them re the holiness which is much sought after by God in his new creation for He is coming for a "Bride, spotless and without wrinkle". Maybe somebody else can do a better job than me in putting across the intentions of my heart. Because of Jesus,
