The problem is not with Job but his friends who has a wrong perception of Job's sufferings and his God. Job has to pray for his friends to receive God's pardon. What I know from the account of Job is his unwavering trust in God that sets him apart from his friends and even his wife. In fact, his wife asked him to curse God and die. He hanged on with God till the end, even though God slayed him he will trust in Him.
His three friends come to the same basic conclusion: suffering is the direct outcome of sin, and wickedness is always punished. They argue that one can ascertain God's favour or disfavour toward a person by looking at his material prosperity or adversity. They falsely make the assumption that people can comprehend the ways of God without taking into account the fact that divine retribution and blessing may extend beyond this present life. We know from the account that Satan is behind all these calamities in Job's life. In his replies to his friends, Job maintains his innocence, stating that experience proves that both the godly and ungodly suffer and both enjoy prosperity. Job also repented because he answers God out of his ignorance; he failed to understand the nature of God. The lesson of Job is this: Hang on with God vs all odds. In the case of Job, God restored Job's losses twice as much as he had before. It is also good to take heed of Elihu's counsel to Job. Now, dont force your theology too far by saying all Christians will have the same end as Job. Please read what the Bible says in Heb 11:39 of those who having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise. Dont make the same mistakes like Job's friends. I may have to pray for you. In God we trust,
