Re: Question slain by the spirit and holy laughter ? (Little Man of God)

LMG,

The "Toronto Blessing" is a phenomeon that is fading out. Mainstream Pentecostal's like David Wilkerson have denouced it.

Look it up in the Bible. I can find no reference to "holy laughter". (or to people barking like dogs or flopping around on the floor. Or to "slain in the spirit."

Slain in the spirit is a modern practice of dubious benefit.

There are no verses in the Bible specifically establish these practices whereby God knocks his people out to show them how much he loves them or to "demonstrate" His power. by having them break out in uncontrolable laughter.

This is not to say that some power or phenomenon is not taking place. I simply question the source.

Those who will defend this practice have no scriptural leg to stand on. The scriptures used to defend these practices are always taken out of context.
