Visited this cemetry when I was in Bonn recently.
It was located at a busy junction, so the fringes of the cemetry could still hear the traffic. But further in, it was quiet and serene. Tombs dating from 1700s. Actually considered new if you remember that Bonn could trace its history back to the Roman times! Schumann (the composer) and his wife were buried there. So was Beethoven's mother it seems. There was also this small chapel which was unfortunately closed. I was more frightened by the possibility of meeting a "Jack the Ripper" there, than by semi-transparent apparitions or tree-loving pontianaks! But there were other visitors there... admirers of Schumann and students just getting away from the noise and bustle. Maybe as a tourist I could feel lots more "detached." If I had to visit the Bididari cemetry, think it would still be okay, except that I have to fight off those pesky mosquitoes and battle the heat and humidity!!! Yikes!
