Your questions are valid but where or how are you going to find the answers to them? It is not so much a question of being fair or not but whether it is true or not. Truth is what counts. Okay, my own stand is that the ultimate decisions on any question on christianity should be based on the Holy Scriptures alone - nothing else. Only the writings of the original Prophets and Apostles of the Bible are valid for making final decisions on christianity. Right, if you are interested, my decisions on the Pentecostal/Charismatic questions were based on reading and rereading 1 Cor chapters 12-14 and Acts 2,8, 10 and 19 over and over again for over 10 years, perhaps over 100s of times, I think. (I didn't count). So that is why I am confident of my self. But I am not the type who will tell everything I know because I want people to find out for themselves. Why should they believe me? Another thing is that there are lots of books in the market on both for and against the Pentecostal/Charismatic movement. I don't think any of them are brilliant enough. The arguments form both camps are not impressive or intelligent. Both camps are just taking sides. So I am not impressed by all these writers. So it has to be the original Apostles and writers of the Bible who alone are authoritative. Isaac Newton, when he was still a young lad said, "Aristole is my friend, Plato is my friend but Truth is my greater friend." Bye Bye: |
