Some talk has been in this forum about casting lots..etc...
So here I have some idea that I have been pondering for many months now. This is not limited to casting lots alone, but to all life situations. please read slowly. Take one simple situation in the future. Say tomorrow I will go to work. I can take a cab or the train or drive my own car. Now, these 3 seem possibilities for us. They are indeed some 3 choices we have to make tomorrow. But Since God knows the future, He knows which mode of transport I will take. It certainly cannot be 2 or more modes of transport at the same time. So He knows I Will take ;( say ); a cab to work, becasue He knows today my choice tomorrow. So I asked myself, If this is the case, I WILL NOT take anything else tomorrow except the cab. ( Please understand that tomorrow I may change my mind, but God knew it today ) This I WILL NOT take is not forced upon me, but based on MY choice. But I say 'I WILL NOT' because That is what WILL ACTUALLY happen. ( It can only be ONE that ACTUALLY happens ) So, what is my point ? The future is already FIXED! ( I know it sounds crazy ! ) i.e. let me try in another way: Since already God knows what I will do tomorrow, and His knowledge is perfect, it can be ONLY one way that it ACTUALLY happens. ( In reality, it can only be ONE string of Events that ACTUALLY happen !) I am NOT telling at this point that I have No free will. But, It only seems free to me, since God knows everything I will ever choose, Even though it is a'free choice' to me, by the sheer fact that He knew about it before, means only that it is Pre-defined. PS: I am not saying that God fixed it for me, but that He knows it. ( The second part will come later ) Now, I like to hear your comments. I am sure I will get shot down by some brainy guy/gal. I am open to correction. Just my thoughts. -John666
