Hi Ivan,

When i mentioned about the other Side in my previous post, i meant this : the contradictions between the 2 opposing views of whether salvation of mankind is totally of God ( God had already determined their salvation and thus men cannot resist His grace or thwart His salvation plan for the Elect but will respond) or of God's electing men because of His foreknowing beforehand that they will respond (by believing in His Son's finished work on Calvary ) , cannot be resolved in this lifetime. We cannot see things as God sees for He is both Perfect in knowledge and is Infinite.

However i think what we know about Election cannot be of much help to the world if all it does is to give the idea of Fatalism rather than encourage true Faith in God. What about the Scriptures that speak of God placing ALL under disobedience so as to extend His mercy to ALL (Rom 11:31) or that state that He is IMPARTIAL...He welcomes those who fears Him and do what is right (Acts 10:34-35)?

Having known that we are saved is one thing but how to preach the gospel to present God's Will correctly to the world is another. For who wants to hear a gospel that says...God already has His chosen ones. The implications will be if the hearers of the Gospel are not part of the Elect..its too bad...no matter how they hard they want to be saved, they cannot be saved. Isn't this making the Gospel bad news instead of good news for the already dying world? :(

If i heard this doctrine re Election before being born again, i might be thinking am i part of God's Elect in the first place. If not why bother for nothing can change the Fate given by God. Hope this make sense.
