The issue on "Election" should not be miscontrued for it may lead one to think that God desires some to be destroyed because other Scriptures clearly state otherwise. If the unbelievers choose to continue to reject Jesus, then by the principle of "Election", they are responsible for choosing the path of destruction because God's Election is "Salvation is in and through Jesus only".
I will take myself thus far because it boils down to the fact that human language and understanding and explanation tends to fall short of God's perspective which SBG explains carefully in her posting.
