maybe the RC was right, layman can't be trusted to interpret the WORD in correct context and need Church Guidance eom (Little Man of God)
Is this the reason how the Protestants came about because layman were not allowed to read the Bible? Please advise. eom. (Ivan)

again, who writes the written scriptures ? man inspired by the Holy Spirit, right ? If you are living in the 30-100 A.D. time e.g., would you not also question the apostles and also cling on tight to the OT scriptures. Similarly, perhaps God is speaking to people and who knows, another few books may be added few hundreds years from now if the Lord has not returned. I'm sure you know how our present bible came into it's present form... We have been living in the last days since pentacost ;p God will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Should we also not listen to God's revealation through the Spirit too ?
