maybe the RC was right, layman can't be trusted to interpret the WORD in correct context and need Church Guidance eom (Little Man of God)

As long as fundamentals do not change (e.g. Catholic Creed), I think that it's ok to receive fresh revelations from the Lord (rhema) even as the Spirit of God enlightens your mind.
