to be imitators of God as dear children (Eph 5:1). Be warned that "no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them" (Eph 5:6,7).
We are not to be our old self but to be transformed to be imitators of God as His new creation. We have to be imputed with Jesus' righteousness to begin perfecting holiness in the fear of God (2 Cor 7:1). In Colossians, Apostle Paul instructed the Christians to "put off the old man with his deeds and have put on the new man." Now the question before us is: Who is to put off all these deeds of the old man? You know the answer: YOURSELVES. For the answer look up Col 3:8. My friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, BE IN CHRIST and not yourselves. We are also instructed not to be in our old thinking, but be renewed in our minds to have the mind of Christ. I love the epistles of Paul which is the Christian guidebook to live the holy Christian life. Let it be known that "pretended holiness" belongs to the non-Christians and not the dear children of God.
