Dear Redeemed, My church always teaches Compassion and Love as the greatest gift of all from the Spirit the moment you are baptised, Charity is the key word, that far goes beyond any other vocations in our holy life. Thru' charity, the poorest of the poor can experience direct grace from God thru' us to them, a light that guide them in this darkness, we are the little candles shinning in this world, with charity, people are automatically evangelised by the church members. For as you see, Jesus's life is a guide to us, who did he attend the most? Most are which type of people? The poor, the sick, the possessed....etc We ought to follow Christ more...have a charitable heart, not just with a mind of trying to "force" non-believers to take in Christ. Let friendship bonds, our caring hands, our compassionate heart, and the guidiance of the Holy Spirit, help those who most need of God's mercy.Ministries to the Orphans, the paralysed, the old..provide us with rich eternal experience and strengthen our faith and eagerness to serve them more. As the Lord once said, when we served the poor, we served him too, he is well-pleased.( I forgot the verse, sorry). Rather, the trend nowadays focused too much on healthy youths, they nearly forgot about the poor and old. How many years do they have to left? Abandoned old folks, who has the ears to spare them in their sorrows? We can't just leave everything to the Community Chest! We, in the name of Jesus, should strive to help and guide them back to the shepherd. We can't demand them to accept Christ, yes! But our kindness and Love in us can touch them! Whats the use of praying over them in tongues without actually attending to their personal needs? I know that people nowadays won't do jobs for free. Note this, our Lord once said, when you invite a feast, call upon those who are unable to pay you back in life, for your deeds will be greatly awarded in heaven. Mother Teresa is a good example. In many Christians' heart, she is a hero, she is a great saint, a great mother. Looking at pictures of those lying on the streets of Calcutta, skinny and bony, half-rotten, flies and maggots on them....do you feel that its not your business at all? Wake up, brothers and sisters in Christ! You don't have to go Calcutta or Africa, in every countries, there are people who are waiting for Christians of compassionate hearts to help them. For our God gives us his Love, in response, we share it with the others! In His Love ever mercy, Emmanuel |
