If you know the general tribulation mentioned in certain parts of Scriptures is distinctly different from the Great Tribulation, then you will be able to see that the wrath of God which form part of the Great Tribulation judgment of God upon all those who reject Jesus, the RIGHTEOUS ONE. Remember the Great Tribulation will last for 7 years and the final 3.5 years is usually referred to as the Wrath of God. In fact, there are 2 comings of the Lord Jesus. The first one, at the Rapture of the Church in the clouds. The second one is when His feet touched down at Mt Olives for the Battle of Armageddon(Rev 16:16; Zech 14:3-5). According to Rev 3:10, our Lord Jesus says that the church in Philadelphia will be kept from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world....." This church which represents all the faithful Christians will make it for the Rapture(also closure of Church Age) which will happen before the Great Tribulation of 7 years. During these periods, there will be conversion resulting from the evangelistic efforts of the 144,000 "sealed" Jewish remnant. These Christian converts will be persecuted during the rule of AC. And these will be raptured midway before the outpouring of the Wrath of God (Rev 7:13,14). <<<You ask: Why do you say that the AC is restrained by the church? >>> According to 2 Thess 2:7,8 the Church will be united with the Bridegroom and taken away at the Rapture; the lawless one (AC) will be revealed and destroyed by Jesus at the Battle of Armageddon (Rev 19:19,20).
