Idea Binding business

Forum: Messageboard

I hear so many people saying prayers which include statements like:

-Bind the evil one and His angles, their power....

-Spirits of lust, unity, boardom, lazyness....

Many use Luke 10:19 and Mathiew 16: 19 to justify this.

Let me ask some questions here and make some statements, because I believe there are some misunderstandings.

1. God did not ask us to bind, slander or redicule the evil one.
 (2 Peter 2:10-12)

2. Is there spirits for every thing ? I thought that laziness, lust..etc are things in the flesh. The only reason I would guess that one want to attribute them to a spirit is so that one has an excuse not to be SELF-CONTROLLED.! God gives self control as a gift. By attributing it to a fault of a spirit, I can escape that.....

3. Matt 16:19 are talking about church descipline only.

(I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.")

Or else, By saying that when you BIND the evil one on earth, you are saying that an Evil one will be bound in heaven..! You mean there is evil in heaven ?

4. I heve heard so many pastors, children of God binding the evil one and the evil powers so many times. So what happens? Every time someone binds the evil one, does He get loose after a few hours ? Or else why would you bind Him so many times yet there he is another time the very next minute?

No No brothers/siters. God never asked us to BIND anyone. He did ask us to PRAY so that the Evil one Flees. We are to use scripture verses a appropriate as and when we have probelsm so that the evil one's working can be stopeed by the WORD.

Satan is scared of the WORD. Jesus just used 3 verses from Scripture and Satan is gone. Jesus never bound Satan during the temptation, nor did He ask us to do so. Don't you think there will be an encouragement to us to do that if Jesus wanted us to do that?
