NOT!
You said <<The sins of Harry Potter, I suspect, is more likely the "easy" and unexpected captivation of both children and adult by a book, resulting in horror from the rest of the "rational" adult world at how minds could easily be "beguiled" by merely a book of words. These "rational" adults most likely could not enjoy a piece of literature for what it is. Perhaps in growing up and trying to stay "grown up," they've lost that child-likeness which surfaces when one's imagination is stirred by words, such as those found in the Harry Potter books (the first one at least). So they view a book's ability to captivate as a kind of "power," a "hold of evil" which must be overcome. >>> Certainly when you refer to "rational" adults(chrsitian), we are able to discern for what it is. Thats why we are here discussing the matter. However, can this rationality be applied to children? Plus the fact that when your child see you reading it, they want to join in. The scriptures tells us to "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;" How do you think the devil tempts us? By speaking thoughts into our minds. If your thoughts is going to be moulded by HP, you will think as such. Since children grow up being moulded by their enviroment, these sort of books will surely mould their character. Do you think the devil will make use of this? So do you still think that there is no power behind the book? <<<Are there truly things of this world one could truly classify as wholly bad or wholly good? Yet there are those on this forum who are ready to label a book as "evil" without even thinking. What is evil - does the inclusion of "evil elements" in a book render the whole book evil? Does the graphic description of evil manifestations render the book evil? In that case let's relook the Bible. >>>l Let me ask you this...can there be a 'good' evil such as white magic or good socerers? If it is not of God.....??? Why are you making degrees of relativity of evil? Yes, lets look at the bible. Again I remind what the Lord says about socerery Deut 18 10 There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or] that useth divination, [or] an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all that do these things [are] an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. 13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God Dare you let your children pass thro this fire??? Remind you that this is an Abomination to the Lord, no small matter and anyone who allows or encourage do so at the risk of coming under the judgement of God! Defination od abomination is it is Disgusting to the Lord. My dear sister...amusing it is NOT prophet
