Any form of activity which shuts out the conscious mind is dangerous. We should never allow our children go through such experiences. There is such a thing as paranormal phenomena in this world.

The basic argument that what happened in the Bible days is the same as what is happening now cannot be proven or substantiated. It is just an assumption. An assumption which can be very costly.

Perhaps this is not commonly known but it has been observed and I will personally confirm it that those who submit to such experiences undergo great changes in their lives. What happens is that there is a drop in intelligence after a person goes through this kind of experience. They are no more the same person. As to what really happens I don't know but it is not for the better though it appears to be very spiritual and the person can talk high and lofty spiritual things. The person's intelligence becomes seriously impaired and he can sometimes behave like a zombie. I am not all joking here. The part which becomes affected most is rational thought. As to how deeply it affects I think it depends on how deeply one gets involved with such things. The deeper the worse, I guess.

Once in, I think it is very difficult to get out if you are deeply involved. One way is of course to backslide and leave the church altogether. But not everybody can do that and it is not the right thing to do. I believe you have to deprogramme your mind and this is not easy. You need a lot of courage to work your way to find your former self again. Let me just say that you are fighting something in your mind and it is not easy at all. For those people who are not deeply involved perhaps they will just forget about their one-time experience and get on with life. Some smart people can outgrow such experiences and get back to normality.

If you want to do research on this subject you have to go all the way back to people like Jonathan Edwards, John Wesley, Charles Finney, etc. Since all this involves psychology you have to read up on psychology and understand how the mind can be manipulated. It can be done. The worst part is that you won't know when it is happening to you.

So spirituality has its dangers too but it does not mean that there is no God or the Bible is not His word. The Bible is like medicine. Take it according to the right dosage and it is life, health and peace. Take overdoses of it and you are in for lots of trouble.

Bye Bye:
