Three steps 
Deliverance

Paul said in Eph 4:17, "This I say therefore, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality, for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness. But you did not learn Christ in this way, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, that, in reference to your former manner of life, (1) YOU LAY ASIDE THE OLD SELF, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that (2) YOU BE RENEWED IN THE SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND, and (3) PUT ON THE NEW SELF, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth." I do not know what you struggle with and I need not know. But I believe God's Word is applicable to your circumstances if you are struggling with the flesh, as we all do. You need not seek out deliverance gurus in living a life of godliness and holiness, for that would sometimes make you dependent on the "experts". Rather, look to the Christians that God has put around you. They will be the ones who will stay with you, encourage you, and pray with and for you. Perhaps one thought I leave with you. I think we do not really need deliverance from evil spirits as much as we need deliverance from teachings that tells us that we are still in bondage to evil spirits. And Paul has correctly pointed to the source, that of the mind. Wrong teachings can bind us to think in a certain way and cause us to seek help in only a certain way, whereas truth can liberate us! I say, live in the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Let Christ be formed in you. If you have trusted in Christ, He now lives in you and has ALL power and authority. Look to Christ as the author and finisher of your faith, not to the supposedly evil spirits taunting you nor to the deliverance experts who has the "power". The community that Jesus has put you in is more than able to support you in your Christian life. |
