Feedback WHAT IS PRAYER ?

Most of the times, it means supplication to most Christians and that explained the frequent question of why prayers are not answered.

Prayer is communion with God. Remember our reconciliation with God through our Lord Jesus is a restoring of a love relationship.

Just like our relationship with our parents from young, we have constant communion through spoken words and body language. With our great invisible God, we can only hear from Him through the Scriptures while we communicate with Him through our prayers till the end of times.

Some has taught prayer to be ACTS correctly: Adoration Confession Thanksgiving Supplication

in that order.

As we grow up in our relationship with our parents, we will realise our adoration and gratefulness for them take precedence over supplication unlike when we are young, we tend to ask for everything.

If our prayers is always supplication, it implies we have yet to "grow up". I do not mean we will never approach our parents for assistance when we grow up, but it is the relationship that matters. I believe our parents will never mind our constant requests if they truly love us.

Our parents will love to hear everything from us - be it good tidings or even our woes. They will gladly listen and share them, won't they ?

When we are young, we tend to ask for physical things whenever we communicate with our parents. When we grow older, we communicate our fears, our aspirations, our blessings and our failures.

HOW MUCH WILL GOD DO SO ?

When Jesus knew He was going to die for our sins eventually, what were his prayers like ? He prayed often by Himself - so much so that his disciples were complaining that even John the Baptist taught his disciples more.

I have seen Christians praying according to the ACTS order everyday in a very mechanical way and prayer becomes a ritual and not a relationship. Imagine how strange we appear to our parents if we approach them at a fixed time every day repeating the same issues and in a same order.
