Obviously, you are trying to reverse what God has already done in the OT and is fulfilled in His Son.

++I don't get you. Please explain.

Maybe you need a session on how to apply Scriptural principles to teach you not to follow the letter but of the Spirit.

++If your definition of following the Spirit means the freedom to depart from Scriptural precedent without proper justification but only sheer pragmatism, I would have none of it.

The tabernacle or church building is just a shadow of things to come for we await the City whose builder and maker is God.

++I can agree with that part on the tabernacle. But the church building? Sorry, I don't see any such thing in the Bible. What's the theology behind the church building? Or maybe you can think of a strong biblical basis for say, a titanium clad structure?

However, while on planet Earth, the church building stands as a testimony of the Lord Jesus, the Light of the World and the King of kings and Lord of lords.

++Very noble and high sounding, but pray tell, how biblical is that?

What is happening on earth in a church building with brothers and sisters of different races and languages assemble together in worship is a mini version of what is to come in heaven and a preview of what worship is in heaven (Rev 7:9,10).

++Brothers and sisters assembly together, yes I can see that. But the church building? Where's the parallel? Or are you forcing things into Scripture out of desperation?

The teaching of believers in the church building is in order and is biblical "for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ." (Eph 4:11-16)

++What order? Until now you have failed to give a solid biblical basis for the church building in itself, appealing to all other things that are quite irrelevant. Does equipping the body require a $43m church building?

In his book, "The Bride", Charles Swindoll lists 4 objectives which comprise the ministry of the church (Acts 2:41-47). He suggested the acronym, WIFE.

++So? What has that got to do with church buildings?

Take heed: Those who are Resistant To Change tend to be out of step in the things of God which you also correctly pointed out in another posting.

++Excuse me. I have made that change after almost two decades as a die-hard institutional church goer. But you are right, I am pretty resistance to change, especially to that kind of change that seeks to conform church to culture, rationalising Scriptures away to suit the whims of human traditions and modern corporation management styles.
