It seems like a profound theological question. It can be easily answered. I am sure you know the destiny of the believers and non-believers upon death. The Christians end up in heaven and the non-Christians end up in hell. We Christians who are still alive may not have to be processed by the undertaker when we are caught up by Jesus, the Upper-Taker at the Rapture.

Maybe, let me rephrase your question, "Why suffer the non-Christians to end up in hell?"

You can look up Jn 6:53-56 which speaks of the necessity of coming to Christ and believing in Him, who died at the cross for the sins of the whole world, to receive eternal life as opposed to eternal death recorded in Rev 21:8 for the unbelieving, etc.

My friend, there is no double punishment in Hell. Far be from it, Jesus did not die eternally in Hell (1 Cor 15:55). Banish your flawed thinking immediately! However, there is a second death for the unbelieving which is the lake of fire (HELL). So, those who are born twice, only died once and those who are born once, died twice.
