Yes, I believe it is wrong to label the desire to preach the gospel by whatever means as "apostasy". But I still believe if the means are questionable, they should be discussed and questioned. Possibly accountability as called by some.
What is even more heartbreaking for most believers is the covetous motives behind any movement IF ANY. If greed and pride were the selfish motives behind any movement, should we warn others or not ? How do we know if there are other motives other than the genuine desire to preach the gospel ? The bad tree will not produce good fruits. The leaders should lead by example. 1 Tim 6. Paul challenged Timothy to pursue a lifestyle that values character over cash. vs 11. Paul was especially on the lookout for greed so his strategy for avoiding greed was to earn his own living as a tentmaker, rather than LIVE OFF THE GENEROSITY OF OTHERS. Now the question to Forum Master and readers: If there is prosperity theology being preached and is POPULAR, should we warn or not ? To warn will be seen as "bringing down the ministry" and not to warn will go against the teachings in the Scriptures. (Personally, I have seen the lives of dear believers-in-Christ being wrecked as a result of believing prosperity theology and not seeing the material life as promised.) (I have no answer and is confused too.)
