The bad tree will not produce good fruits> Unfortunately waiting for the manifestation of fruits is already too late. Therefore the need for discernment well before apostasy is birthed. This is by the leading of the Spirit and by the judging BY THE WORD. Both will have to agree to form God's Word. Therefore the call of the watchmen. The deception of the Body starts inevitably with wrong doctrines like the one you pointed out, properity gospel. This satisfies a lot of ears twitching for sweet doctrines, tatseful to the flesh. Wrong doctrines are the seeds of apostasy. Thats why all doctrines are to be tested against the scriptures. However nowadays you have the "new prophets and apostles" presenting 'new things' from God. <If there is prosperity theology being preached and is POPULAR, should we warn or not ? To warn will be seen as "bringing down the ministry" and not to warn will go against the teachings in the Scriptures. (Personally, I have seen the lives of dear believers-in-Christ being wrecked as a result of believing prosperity theology and not seeing the material life as promised.) > The watchmen are called to sound the alarms in this case. Popularity doesnt mean its from God. Would you rather go against God or man? Concerning lives being wrecked, I wrote in another thread that I have seen testimonies(adverts) by a mega church in S'pore about giving to their church building fund and the receiving much more in return. Presumably from the Lord. What about those who did not receive anything? Silence..... Talk about wolves with evil motives. prophet
