The LoveSingapore Movement that birth Vision 2001 should have climax by the end of December 2001 with God moving mightily in Singapore and many Singaporeans will turn towards Christianity, hence making Singapore a Christian Nation. The following are extracts from a message by the leader of LoveSingapore in 2000 on what is expected to happen last year:

“The success or at least all that God has been doing in LoveSingapore is not something a great man, a great leader, or a great idea can bring about. GOD HAS BIRTHED IT. This is the moment to cross the River Jordan. This is the moment to possess Jericho. This is the moment to take this city. We are believing God for half the population of Singapore to give their lives to Jesus. We are believing God that the whole community will be transformed or begin to transform as a result of that great blessing. We cannot do anything about what is going to happen in the year 2001. All we can do is to prepare our hearts, receive, burst into songs, and be excited. Churches will suddenly grow and will not even know why. Some of them will not even be part of LoveSingapore. We are going to see growth and blessings from God.” (emphasis mine)

We all know now that those who propagated this Vision had shot themselves in their foot. Not only people are questioning their prediction, but also many are disappointed by the poor responses to the finale at the National Stadium last December. There was hardly a whimper from the leaders on what went wrong, but I believe they have got themselves well covered on why God did not do what He intended to do (same message):

“Very often, many of these blessings were not retained because the people of God have never received them by faith. THEY HAVE NEVER BELIEVED GOD and have always been taken by surprise. They have never prepared themselves and hence have lost many blessings that were given to them.” (emphasis mine)

Needless to say, doubts had been cast on whether these leaders are hearing from God. Many might say that they had failed as a result of their zeal, but I think otherwise. Using God’s Name in vain is a sin, originating from the Ten Commandments given by Himself. Though we should not stone them for giving false prophesies, but I believe these leaders should at least seek forgiveness in humility for the misrepresentation and repent to God. They should not ask the people to just forget about the past and leave the mess unresolved. Should not the shepherds be accountable to God for leading the flock? Be man enough to repent, seek forgiveness, then move on. Rebuilt the Body the way God want it – to simply worship and give God all the glories, honors and powers. Not towards themselves.
