Psalm 23:5 "Thou dost prepare a table before me in the presence of my 'enemies'..." I like to share something that happen while arguing with some of our brothers/sisters in this board that...of course there are many incidents where i'm challenged to think through some favourite doctrines...challenged in my attitudes when reading some 'nasty' remarks in reply to my post or those of others...challenged when there seems to be no answer when some church problems are posted..etc. In the midst of the arguments for the message thread re the Vine in John 15..it was a long and difficult one as we(those participating) have our own convictions re soteriology and approach the allegory re the Vine from our own doctrinal perspective and interpretations..it was also mixed with side issues unrelated to the topic under discussion...it was at times very unedifying for christians to read (to be frank here)...but i must say no one's particularly at fault as the notes lead from one writer to another...and we (myself included)do at times think very unChristlike no matter how spiritual we all try to be...leading to more errors etc. Towards the end of that thread...i saw the light concerning what Grace is all about...i must say its a whole lot of difference to me now in relating to God and in reading the Scriptures. Thank you Forum Master for all your efforts in keeping peace in this Forum inspite of all our weaknesses. Please know that your efforts are not in vain despite of what this forum has gone through lately. I concur with Gabriel that this forum provides a learning platform for christians, young or even old(though we may seem to know alot )and that the lessons learnt are not just factual knowledge, but as we struggle through some difficult to discuss issues or with some brethren who are of the 'opposing' viewpoints to our many doctrinal positions, that's probably when the goal of Eph 4:13-16 may one day be fulfilled in a small way in this forum. Please Forum Master...do not shut down this forum permanently. God bless you all, sbg |
