Hi JoyGi,
I don't mean to kill your zeal with the following comments. I agree with you that we should constantly pray for our nation: its leaders and the people. I'm in total agreement on this one. I just get uneasy when you picture God as unwilling to save until we pray, or that by our prayers, we can make God do what He didn't intend in the first place. This is not a theological point I am raising but one of reverence. Personally, I wouldn't dare to "shout" at God in my prayers, especially with phrases such as "Do your work NOW, O God ... SEND your Holy Spirit and convert this nation NOW .." You know what I mean? It sounds so insolent. God is really too great and mighty to need us to direct His next move. Then again, let me repeat that I'm in total agreement with praying for our nation and for the people's salvation. "Thy Kingdom come, and may Your Will be done, Amen." Regards, Christopher
