Dear Sebastian I guess most Singaporeans lived with some kind of loans. What makes it worse is when we are out of jobs and still have bills to pay and kids to feed. I have never known of anyone earning an income of any amount without having to pay for anything. When I was retrenched from work in 1999, I had so many mouths at home to feed. My kids, my parents, my maid, my monthly loan of $2000 to the bank for my house..my hubby alone paid for everything. We didn't have savings to tide over us for this trying period.. we pray for God to make ends meet for us. My hubby and I sat down and pray every night. We ask for His hands on our children. To make them healthy so we can save on medical. We ask God to give us peace of mind and that we should not be troubled over money and expenses.. Gracefully, God answered our prayers. I was able to provide for my aging parents, my in-laws, family household, our family car, and all other expenses we had. For the months I was out of job, my entire family was without illness of any kind. And I felt so blessed and I still contribute my tithes every month without fail. And in turn, God blessed me with a job 10 days before Christmas that year. A workplace near my home, so I can save on MRT and long bus journeys. But still I was not happy with my current job as I work long hours and hardly had time for Chapel service on Sundays. I then quit without a job last August. But this time, I feared nothing because I know my God..He alone decides and He alone provides. 2 days after I quit, I was still serving my 1 month's notice...someone called me to go for a job interview. I didn't apply for this job ever. It was thru head hunters and recommendations. I am now working in a multinational company, holding a senior management position..earning 2.5 times more than my last paid job. To this, I give glory to His name. I swear that as Iong I had breath, I will sing of His mercies and do everything that He wanted me to do. Dearest brother, I can pray for you, with you..but it is your faith in Him that He tries on. Read the good book "Prayer of Jabez" and be blessed by the simple prayer Jabez had with God. And be inspired that God blessed this simple man with his simple wish. God Bless Gina |
