How can we pray with you...

Dear Chris,
I can identify with you. My parents divorced 21 years ago, yet my mum is still bitter and resentful at what she had to go through. When I was living with her, it was worse. I had to listen to her frequent berations of a father I hardly knew; it is by GOD's grace that I have not internalized her negative views of men. Now that I am married, I see her only once a week, so life is more bearable. Our relationship has improved to the point that we can occasionally joke & tease each other. More importantly, my mum has found other activities to keep her occupied: she karaokes with friends, goes shopping in JB or on cruises to nowhere; lunches at her friends' country clubs; goes travelling when she feels the itch; and has picked up American line dancing (at the age of 66!). She has also joined a cell group whose members she is comfortable with. This is not to say all is well; she is still negative and critical about many things, and she still irritates me now & then, BUT...... ......I thank GOD for what He has done for her so far. Like you, I am praying that she will someday be completely healed from her unforgiveness toward my father. In the meantime, I will continue to pray for her and for our relationship, and I hope you continue to do the same for your mum. GOD bless.
