The Lord's Prayer OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN --------------------- so often we seek the world, we focus our sight here below...struggle to get by and make a mess out of life...when will we look up to Your throne? HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME --------------------- we work and strive, we compete and destroy others just to make a name for ourselves. we love fame, we crave for riches, we seek the comfortable and chase after things we dont really need. when will we truly exalt Your name? YOUR KINGDOM COME ----------------- our lives reflect that we live not in Your kingdom but still in the world. we fight over small issues, we seek to outlive the rest, we treat people the way You told us not to. When will we come and live in Your Kingdom and recognise our true identity as citizens of heaven? YOUR WILL BE DONE ------------------ to please ourselves seemed more important than pleasing You. we have our own will, we make our own decisions...Lord where is Your place in our life? Will we live according to what you say and not what we think? ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN ----------------------------- You commanded and it came to be,You spoke the words and it become a reality. Father, our life on earth is so painful and hurting, so many things dont happen they way we want it to be...but You are different Lord, You can make things around us happen just like what You saw in heaven. The angels witness Your splendour and surely they want to see them happen here on earth...do we seek You for that? GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD ------------------------------- Lord, bread has been a long forgotten food in our daily lives. we see it as a symbol of simplicity and poverty. we go after luxurious delicacies and gourmet that far surpass bread. But You reminded us once again. How You feed the five thousand with just five loaves of bread and two fishes..how it satisfy them until they overflow. Give us Lord, the bread we need each day, things we truly need and not want we think we want. Most of all, we need Jesus- the living Bread from heaven. FORGIVE US OUR SINS AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WE SIN AGAINST US ---------------------------------------------------------- is forgiveness an impossibility for us now? is loving and forgiving things that only occur in the Bible? Can we start to set people free? can we learn to forgive no matter how great or small the fault is? If we dont forgive others...do we have the cheek to ask God to forgive us when we sin against Him? LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL ----------------------------------------------------- temptations lie all around us. Yes, it is hard to overcome them at times...we tried but we failed again and again. Think about it, what is in your mind when you are trying to fight temptation? whoose strength are u depending on? God or yours? To overcome temptations and resist the devil, the only way is to come to God and seek Him. He will not let you suffer the temptation nor will He let the evil one touch your life. AMEN. |
