When Jesus said the poor will always be with you meaning that HE was talking to Judas who asked to sell the oil that the lady pured on Jesus's feet to give to the poor. What Jesus Christ was saying is that you won't have the Messiah in body for long and that what that lady is doing in anointing HIS feet is the right procedure for HIM. He's words was meant for then and then where the Messiah was in the flesh and HE was going to be killed soon.
Read this from the Bible carefully! Matthew 25:31-46 and stop deceiving others by saying that those words Jesus said to Judas before Jesus was put on the cross meant forever! No way! IT was meant that the MESSIAH will only be in the flesh for a short time so whatever that lady did for HIM was right. And what we have to do for the poor we do as and when we can. Don't forget that Jesus also told Peter to feed his sheep and those who are less fortunate when HE has departed from HIS flesh to be risen to return to Heaven! I have heard enough of such phrases where pastor and elders of the church keep quoting what Jesus said to Judas and saying that we don't really have to care for the poor! That's not what Jesus meant. Stop misleading others with that phrase. And if you don't know how to use it then don't.
