You do know about the marriage rules written in the Bible, I believe so.
In the Bible it is clearly stated that once a couple gets married they can only divorce if there is infedility involved. And should they still want to divorce, they cannot remarry to other people. If they do so, it will be considered as adultry. They themselves must keep their body clean from sexual relationship with others so that if they want to come back in marriage again to the same person, they can do so. But if they have had sexual relationship with others, and yet feel that they want to marry the same person back again after a few years, this is not allowed by God's law and God considers this as adultry aswell. Please tell this to the couple so that they are informed well about God's law. And if they go against any of God's law then the blame and punishment from God is brought upon them by themselves. It is no longer in your hands as you have done your part to inform them and prayed for them. You need to quote Bible verses to them so that they know exactly what is written about God's law regarding marriage. Pray and ask God that you feel the burden for them in your heart so that you can cry out to God onbehalf of them. I will pray for them aswell that they don't make the wrong decision but let God decide for them what is best. P.S. I've know a couple of Christain women who actually struggle badly in their marriage with physcially abuse and verbal degrading by their husband for over 10 years. Many of these husbands are smokers, alcoholics and womanizers who induldge in adultry. At first, I used to tell such women that divorce is ok inorder to stop the pain. But these women have not gone through with divorce and still cling on to their husband with prayer. They have gaven their lifes more closely to God through the struggle they go through. Today, I am glad those women didn't make that decison to divorce and instead choose to give their lives back to Jesus Christ and to ask Him to lead in the marriage instead. Now, I feel happy for those who stick to their marriage right to the end even though there is so much of pain and hurt caused by their spouse. For these women, who do not fight back with their abusive spouse and who still continue their duty in loving their spouse and as a wife to do their daily chores for both husband and children, they have become children of Sarah who herself called her own husband, Abraham, Master (this is part about all wives who love their husband inspite of all the sins their husband create, are children of Sarah is written in the Bible). Their reward is waiting for them in Heaven. I myself learn from such women who cling on right to the end in prayer and seeking God for everything in their marriage and life.
