Is this the language of the new Generation M or what?
You don't like cell group, then don't attend lor. Bible never say must attend cell group. You don't like youth ministry, then don't join lor. Bible also never say must join youth ministry. But why are you exactly feeling this way? Ahhh.... this one only you know. Is it because you really can't stand the people, or you don't understand what the activities are all about, or you find the activities superficial and meaningless, or you're totally busy and too tired, etc. Aiyo, I said before and I'm saying again, if you're dying in this church, look for another one. No need to participate in all those activities to be super-spiritual; just make sure the preacher talks proper sense and you're learning spiritually. I don't know why some people say the things you like doing are un-Christian. I like to listen to jazz and some of my Christian friends tried telling me that jazz is un-Christian, devil's beat, and all sorts of nonsense. Hurhurhur... but never mind, I think they really have your interest at heart, scared that you'll get influenced by "bad people" (whoever they are). So give them some credit for their concern for you, even though I think it's pretty misguided. I understand your feelings about your church friends and army friends lah.... I also have the same feeling. Actually my church people are alright, but we don't all share the same hobbies (like jazz hehe). And there seems to be this phenomena ahhh, dunno if you agree: "church people" tend to think alike. I dunno abt you but I find that highly unsatisfying. (That's why I come to Antioch to look for "dissident views" mah, exercise the brain a bit, haha...) So I also have a bunch of non-Christian friends with whom we go out for drinks (DRINKS!) from time to time. And I enjoy their company!!! Nothing wrong with that right? But hor, don't enjoy yourself until you forget abt God. Make sure He is always in your life. I don't mean the pray 2 hours a day or speak in tongues every morning; only you will know how your relationship with God is. There is no "standard Christian model" to follow (like wake up at 5am to pray 2 hours, read 5 chapters of Bible every evening that sort of things); you work out your own relationship with God. If you think I typed a lot of nonsense, never mind. But I'm serious about getting into a church which teaches the Bible properly. That to me is basic. Others like youth ministry and cell group are peripheral. If you lose track of the Bible, that's one of the biggest tragedy, you get so lost and you dunno answers to many problems in life... Take care okay?
